The Season of Repentance

What an exciting month! This month of Elul, the 6th biblical month, the season of “Teshuvah” meaning to “return to Elohim” is almost drawing to an end. Once we reach the Feast of Yom Teruah/Feast of Trumpets then we have until Yom Kippur and as “they say” the window of heaven closes on this special time. Traditionally, this is a month to make amends with anyone that may have “aught” against you. So please, if anyone reading this has been hurt in any way from Paul or Barbara Allen’s life, actions or words from our hearts ~ we are sorry and ask for your forgiveness!

Psa 51:1 Show me favour, O Elohim, According to Your kindness; According to the greatness of Your compassion, Blot out my transgressions.

Psa 51:2 Wash me completely from my guilt, And cleanse me from my sin.

It is also the annual time of the year to truly search our hearts and ask the Ruach haKodesh ~ Holy Spirit to help us in this endeavor. This Feast/Festival season has everything to do with “working out our salvation”. As in the spring before the Spring Feasts we clean house, physically & spiritually, this time before the Fall Feasts is also a time to “clean your spiritual house”. This is a time to trust Abba at a greater level than you did last year. This is a time to let it go!  Let go of “that” issue that you have put off much too long at addressing and get it out of your life! Our amazingly, holy, compassionate, heavenly Father knows this is a life process of cleansing, healing, overcoming and deliverance. He has us rehearsing these “Feast Seasons” every year and every year we have the opportunity to “clean up our act” a little better than we did the previous year!  Stir yourself up in your most holy faith and address “that” whatever it may be, and don’t go another year dealing with it.

I truly believe, and I speak from experience in my life that when we stretch ourselves this month and really, really trust Yahuweh/Yahweh/Yehoweh/Yehovah/YHWH (or whichever preference you have in pronouncing His Name) that it sets in motion our lives in the next year.  This will be about our 16th year celebrating the Feasts and Paul & I have seen so many miraculous changes happen after we have humbled ourselves and really set our hearts to change issues in our lives that were not pleasing to God/Elohim. It is not easy by no stretch of the imagination, however, it is so very much worth it.

I encourage you to cry out to Yah our Heavenly Father and ask him for help. Whatever it is that you need to overcome He is your help in time of need. As it is written, “You can do all things through Messiah who gives you strength”.  It is possible for you to overcome this!  And hey, what if the “windows of heaven” really are opened during this time ….. Who wants to miss out on that!
