Revised: Our Savior & Messiah’s Name!
Above Photo: Messiah’s Name written in Ancient Semitic Hebrew Script
(Malachi 3:16) Then shall those who fear יהוה speak to one another, and יהוה listen and hear, and a book of remembrance be written before Him, of those who fear יהוה, and those who think upon His Name. [Emphasis Added]
“Oh Yah, please help me to understand the Hebrew pronunciation of Messiah’s Name!”
Beginning in 2017 I began to declare “Yahusha” as written below. Yahusha has SHA that is the Hebrew root, yaSHA, meaning deliverance (salvation). But please read my 20 year journey of coming to this conclusion below! The acceptable transliteration of Yahusha was right before me all along! My current (smile) final conclusion is at the bottom of the page. [Emphasis added]
That was the cry from my heart, no exaggeration, hundreds if not thousands of times since 1999! I’ve been fascinated with figuring out what all the different names of our savior was all about! I determined to get to the bottom of it & find out what His real name was!! It has been a very, long journey indeed. When I was saved back in 1970 I thought “Christ” was Jesus’ last name! No, I’m not what some call, “A sacred Namer”. No, I don’t believe that you have to pronounce our savior’s name a certain way to have salvation ~ I want to make that clear! Some believe there are two camps on this side of “Messianic World”, or “Hebrew Roots World” . This is not true. There are many like myself that don’t attach to these titles of groups of people and desire to use the Names given to our Creator & His Son. Those that use the sacred names of Elohim/God & His Son and those that don’t use the Heavenly Father’s name & His Son and use the abbreviated/truncated form of the son’s name, Yeshua. We love our Mashiach’s/Messiah’s Name, love our Father’s Name, love their titles & according to scripture we are encouraged to use their names! We also love the body of Messiah, & hey, we love each of their names too!
Wars amongst the Body of Messiah have been waged over this topic in our day, oy vey, I’m not posting for a battle! “Oh, contrer”, I am posting this because I am in love with our Bridegroom & His Name too! I’d been in love with Him for so many years & couldn’t figure out exactly what His Name was! It was heart wrenching to me! I didn’t want to fight with people I wanted to call upon my Messiah, use His Name and make mention of His Name. I wanted to sing His Name & dance to His Name. When I cried, I wanted to cry out to Him and call upon His Name in time of need! I wanted to worship Elohim in His Name. I wanted to call to Him to return to us!
(Rev 22:20) He that bears witness of these matters says, “Yes, I am coming speedily.” Amĕn. Yes, come, Master יהושע!
Truly my heart has been so burdened over this topic that it’s really hard to put into words! So, I’ll suffice it to say I’ve personally come to some conclusions, again after hundreds + hours of prayer, seeking, researching & travail! First, it’s important to understand that others on their own journey, might not have the same burden about “the names” as me and that’s ok. Abba knows where everyone is on their journey so I need not keep track of where they are and that includes their usage of “the names”! I’ve come to a place of shalom about this, Halleluyah!
Messiah’s Name Yehoshua ~ Modern Hebrew Script with the vowel pointing added to the Hebrew letters. The vowel pointing “changed” the way some words were pronounced, including the Creator’s name & His Son!
Yehoshua: Secondly, the witnesses according to scripture that reveal the Name of The Messiah of Israel & The Branch, a title of Mashiyach, are found in the Book of Zechariah ~ they are:
(Zec 3:8) ‘Now listen, Yehoshua [Strong’s 3091] the high priest, you and your companions who sit before you, for they are men of symbol. For look, I am bringing forth My Servant – the Branch1.
Footnote: 1Or Sprout. See Isa. 4:2, Isa. 11:1, Jer. 23:5, Jer. 33:15, Zech. 6:12.
(Zec 6:11) “And you shall take the silver and gold, make a crown, and set it on the head of Yehoshua the son of Yehotsaḏaq, the high priest,
(Zec 6:12) and shall speak to him, saying, ‘Thus said יהוה of hosts, saying, “See, the Man whose Name is the Branch1! And from His place He shall branch out, and He shall build the Hĕḵal of יהוה.
Footnote 1See 3:8.
(Zec 6:13) “It is He who is going to build the Hĕḵal of יהוה. It is He who is going to bear the splendour. And He shall sit and rule on His throne, and shall be a priest on His throne, and the counsel of peace shall be between Them both,” ’
(Zec 6:14) while the crown is for a remembrance in the Hĕḵal of יהוה to Ḥĕlem, and to Toḇiyah, and to Yeḏayah, and to Ḥĕn son of Tsephanyah.
(Zec 6:15) “And those who are far away shall come and build the Hĕḵal of יהוה. And you shall know that יהוה of hosts has sent Me to you. And this shall be, if you diligently obey the voice of יהוה your Elohim.”
Above verses from (The Scriptures 1998+)
◄ 3091. Yehoshua ► Strong’s Concordance
Yehoshua: “the LORD is salvation”/Moses’ successor/also the name of a number of Isr.
Original Word: יְהוֹשׁ֫וּעַ Part of Speech: proper name, masculine; proper name, of a location; proper name Transliteration: Yehoshua
Phonetic Spelling: (yeh-ho-shoo’-ah)
Short Definition: Joshua
Yeshua: “Most of Zechariah deals with setting up men in his day who are symbolic of future events and in many cases have the same names as their future counterparts. This trend begins in chapter 3 where the associates of the high priest Yehoshua ben Yehozadak are directly called forerunners of things to come. By chapter 6, it becomes clear that the same is true for the high priest himself as he will have the same name of The Branch ~ a common title for Mashiyach. By the time five more centuries pass, the long form of this high priest’s name became popularly truncated to “Y’Shua” even though the original form never really went away altogether. The bottom line though is this: Zechariah 6:10 is the only place in Tanakh that directly tells us the Mashiyach will be named Yehoshua and called The Branch at the same time.”(Aramaic English New Testament, Netzari Press, Roth p. 776)
Additional Witness of the Name Yehoshua from the Famous, Jewish Rabbi Kaduri who had encounters with Y’Shua before his death at 108 yrs. old Link: http://www.yeshuahamashiach.org/Kaduri_names_Messiah.htm
Yahushua: Thirdly, witnesses from “extra biblical sources” pointing to a cover-up by vowel pointing of Messiah’s Name “Yahushua”. There is compiled data at the following link to substantiate this claim, which includes an audio of the pronunciation:
Yehoshua is the formal name of Messiah currently proven by scripture ~ that was vowel pointed by the Massorites & truncated or shortened to Yeshua after Israel returned from Babylon & Yahushua is His name according to extra biblical sources and without the Massorite’s vowel pointing that was added to the scripture ~ a fascinating study!
Currently in Israel there are religious Jews & Israelis who are getting saved after seeing the Zechariah scriptures and hearing the testimony of their Revered Rabbi Kaduri meeting Messiah! They know that Yeshua is a shortened form of Yehoshua and it all makes perfect sense to them! I say, Yahuah is Elohim and however He draws men unto himself, SO BE IT! Messiah said he would forgive men if they spoke wrongly about him. I am thoroughly convinced Messiah is pleased when we search out his name. And I am also thoroughly convinced along the journey of discovery of His Name He is not offended if we have mispronounced it as we seek the Truth. Praise Yah that He is “longsuffering” towards us!
In the Tanak or Old Testament Messiah’s name is found 216 times: Yahusha – YOD-HAY-WAW-SHIN-AYIN = YOD-HAY-UAU- SHIN-AYIN, this spelling is found 216 times, rendered in the KJV as “JOSHUA” 1 time found: Y’shua ( Nehemiah 8:17 ) YOD-SHIN-UAU-AYIN
I have continued my research on the Names of our Creator. Yes, I use the father’s name as Yahuah and the son’s name as Yahusha! A beautiful “coincidence” concerning Messiah’s name is to look at Elijah’s Hebrew name “Eliyahu” and the name “Elisha”, the two amazing prophets. I simply pulled this from Wikipedia.
Elijah (/ɪˈlaɪdʒə/; ih-LY-jə; Hebrew: אֱלִיָּהוּ, Eliyahu, meaning “My God is Yahweh/YHWH“)
Elisha (/ɪˈlaɪʃə/; Hebrew: אֱלִישָׁע, Modern ʼElišaʻ, meaning “My God is salvation“
NOW PUT THE “Yahu” from Eliyahu’s name and the “sha” from Elisa’s name together and you get:
which means “Yahuah is Salvation” … our Savior and Messiah’s name! Now there are many bibles out there that state the Messiah’s Hebrew name spelling is:
So simply using the pronunciation of any Hebrew bible of Eliyahu and Elisha’s name pronounciation you can easily pronounce the Hebrew spelling of Messiah’s name! Hidden in plain view. Amazing.
Pray and ask our Heavenly Father to reveal this to you if you do not believe me! There is power in His Name.
